Stiftung Kinderjahre

In Oberhafen, elementary school children set about cutting colorful carrots, kohlrabi, "crooked" cucumbers, browned bananas, and dry bread—foods that would otherwise most likely end up in the trash. Every week during the summer, the Kinderjahre foundation, in collaboration with Hobenköök, organizes Schnippeldisco, a fun cooking course offered to its partner schools.

During this program, students learn how much food is unnecessarily thrown away and how "imperfect" ingredients can be transformed into tasty meals with joy, creativity, and respect. The project inspires them to appreciate food more and actively contribute to reducing food waste.
