Waste collection campaign: Working together for a clean environment and full plates! We, the students of the optional nature study course, are taking on the ‘Waste not Want not Challenge’ in our own way! Instead of just focusing on waste at school, we are going one step further and actively working to create a clean school environment. During our waste collection campaign around the school, we work together to rid our surroundings of carelessly discarded waste. We place a special focus on plastic deposit bottles, which we collect and exchange for food. What does this have to do with the ‘Waste Not Want Not Challenge’? Our campaign demonstrates in a practical way that waste is not just rubbish. Valuable resources can be recycled – in our case, even to obtain food for our community. In this way, we learn to treat our environment more consciously and to better understand the cycle of resources. Even if we do not directly reduce food and plastic waste at school, we are making an important contribution to raising awareness of waste prevention and resource conservation. Every deposit bottle found is a small step towards a cleaner environment and shows that joint action can make a difference. We are taking action together – for a clean environment and a future in which we waste less and value more!
