Zero waste in food cultures and traditions 

This school project explores the concept of zero food waste through traditional recipes and culinary practices. Students at Plovdiv High School explore how traditional Bulgarian cuisine and local food traditions naturally apply principles of food waste reduction, such as using seasonal products, storing food, and making full use of ingredients.

Through studying recipes and practical culinary activities, students discover sustainable practices that can be applied in modern tourism and gastronomy.

The aim of the project is to raise awareness of responsible food consumption while linking cultural heritage with modern principles of sustainable development. The final result will be a zero-carbon cooking course at the end of April this year, showcasing sustainable culinary traditions.
