Shortly describe your project
We conducted a plastic waste audit and discovered that the largest portion of plastic waste in the playrooms consisted of packaging from creative materials, food packaging (despite bulk purchases), and disposable diapers, even though cloth diapers are used. Most of the disposable diapers were ones that children arrived wearing. In this area, we implemented the following activities:
1. Keep It Green! Activity: Children reviewed the creative materials that contribute to our plastic and paper waste. We used waste materials (packaging, cardboard, wood, natural materials) for creative projects, thereby reducing waste in the process.
2. Visit to a Reuse Center: Preschool children visited a store where discarded items are repaired, refurbished, and resold. They learned about and discussed the concept of reuse.
3. Paper Dumplings: This practice was introduced to different age groups and has proven effective in reducing waste.
4. Reusable Lunch Boxes: Parents were invited to provide reusable lunch boxes for the next full-day trip so that food provided by the kindergarten could be packed without using foil or plastic bags.
