Shortly describe your project

At the Sta. Christiana Frohsdorf campus, a successful returnable bottle project was launched during the school year that combines environmental protection, social engagement, and active responsibility. The project was initiated and organized by classes 4HLW, 4BEA, and 2ALW and is currently being continued as a pilot project. The goal of the project is to collect and recycle empty plastic returnable bottles and cans in a meaningful way instead of disposing of them in the general waste. At the same time, the aim is to keep the school building cleaner and promote a conscious use of resources. Thanks to clear organization—with collection bins in the classrooms, the library, and the teachers’ lounge, as well as a central collection point near the beverage machine—the project is easily and effectively implemented in everyday school life. Special emphasis is placed on the social aspect: the collected deposit money is donated to charitable causes throughout the school year. The project impressively demonstrates how collective action on campus can make a valuable contribution to the environment and society. At the same time, it strengthens students’ awareness of sustainability, responsibility, and solidarity. In keeping with the school motto “People Come First,” the deposit bottle project combines ecological action with social engagement, thereby making a lasting contribution to the school community.
