As part of the “Clean Drinking Water – Clear Responsibility” project, Class 3FWA took an in-depth look at the topic of drinking water during the 2025–2026 school year: We began with the water cycle (conducting experiments on cloud formation and the soil’s natural filtration capacity, among other things), analyzed drinking water samples chemically and biologically (using a water analysis lab kit), analyzed microplastics in commercially available cosmetics (various shower gels and cosmetics were mixed with water to form a slurry, filtered, and the filtrate examined under a microscope)—and visited the Vienna Water Tower to understand how a city of millions is supplied with clean drinking water. In the end, we made our own microplastic-free products (soap, toilet cleaner). Because understanding alone isn’t enough—we also wanted to make a difference.
