The Fritz-Schumacher School is a secondary school in Hamburg that is deeply committed to sustainability. The school is also dedicated to minimizing plastic waste and addressing food waste:

  • Environmental Council: A group of students working to reduce waste in the school cafeteria.
  • Waste sorting systems in all classrooms
  • The caterer tailors its offerings to the students’ preferences to minimize food waste
  • Drinking water station for students with their own bottles
  • Caterer’s menu features minimal packaging, with only returnable bottles
  • Lunchboxes are regularly sponsored by the environmental team for younger students
