Münster University of Applied Sciences is committed to promoting greater appreciation of food and has implemented measures to reduce food waste at the Oecotrophology & Facility Management department’s site, whilst also embedding the issue in its educational programmes:

• Food sharing for students through the introduction of a food-sharing fridge, ‘Kalle’ (Cold Food Saver)
• Integration of food waste reduction measures into teaching
• Food Lab practicals on cooking according to the ‘leaf to root’ principle, i.e. using all parts of vegetables
• The ‘kreisl’ project, a multi- and interdisciplinary teaching and learning project on the circular economy
