Every piece of food has its own story

Every piece of food has its own story—it bears the mark of time, labor, and care from the people who helped create it. From sowing the seed, through the harvest, to its journey to our table, food is the result of many steps that we often take for granted. When we throw food away, we lose not only the food itself but also the values behind it—the effort, energy, and respect for nature.

This poster draws attention to the problem of food waste and aims to encourage us to reflect on our daily habits. In a subtle yet powerful way, it reminds us that every bite has value and that even small changes can have a big impact. Let’s try to appreciate every bite and not waste what could still bring joy to someone else. We can use leftovers for compost or feed them to chickens, rabbits, or other pets. Let’s think about what we buy and whether we can actually prepare and eat it all.

The posters were created in art class, and the students were very eager to take them home so they could continue working on them.

As the teacher, I personally guided the creative process. The project was preceded by a motivational discussion, demonstration videos showing what happens to food, and statistical data related to food waste.
