Project: "We don't waste plastic"

Project objective:

• To reduce plastic consumption in our kindergarten
• To raise awareness of active plastic reduction among children and parents

Target group:

Kindergarten staff, children, parents

Project scope

• Preparation of an audit and action plan – May 2025
• Developing specific changes and preparing the project – June 2025
• Implementing the project – school year 2025/26

Specific project outputs:

• Purchasing food in reusable mesh bags or cloth bags
• Purchasing lunch boxes for children who leave after lunch. The boxes will also be used for trips outside the kindergarten
• gradual replacement of plastic tableware for children with porcelain or glass tableware
• production of leaflets for parents on how to effectively reduce waste at home, motivation through purchases such as cloth bags that children can paint themselves
• preference for natural materials when choosing new aids and toys • Use tap water instead of water in plastic bottles
• In next year's annual Ecology project, focus on sorting and reducing plastic consumption in general • Streamline waste sorting overall, purchase suitable waste bins for this purpose
• Dispose of organic waste in compost (coffee grounds, eggshells, fruit and vegetable peels)
