At our preschool, we regularly make sure that we don't waste food.

When we only take as much as we can actually eat, we help minimise food waste. We save water, soil, and energy. We help animals and plants. We reduce the amount of harmful gases that damage our planet. And most importantly, we learn to appreciate food. Every roll, apple, and piece of cheese has come a long way to get to us.

So what do we do?

• Take on plates only as much as we can eat.
• Try new foods before saying “I don't want it.”
• Tell the teacher when we are not very hungry.
