Shortly describe your project

We are a toddler group with children aged 1 to 3 years old. We cook our own food and use everything – there is no food waste. Our menu is often determined by the food we have available. We have an unpackaged vegetable and fruit box, and the rest is purchased from the food co-op or brought in from the field. There is a rough weekly plan for what will be cooked. However, this can always be changed depending on what is available. On Fridays – the best day of the week – any food left over from the week is used to create something new and delicious. Leftover pasta, for example, is often used in soup or a casserole the next day. Or the day-old toast is turned into a toastie. The yoghurt from lunch is eaten as a snack in the afternoon. Everything is used. And if there is still something left over, someone from the team takes it home. Care is also taken to ensure that cleaning products are refilled, thus reducing plastic waste in this area as well. A poster from a seminar on littering hangs at children's eye level in the premises.
